History of the Sigma Omega chapter
Sigma Omega was chartered December 18, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio via the efforts of highly motivated black women: Carolyn Payne, Rho Omega Chapter, National President L. Pearl Mitchell and charter members Anne Brummitt – Robinson, Viola Lockley – Grayson, Jewell Smith – Jackson, Margaret Speakes – Clarke, Breta Walker – Grannum and Helen Walker – King

Our Chapter rises to the challenge of service to mankind throughout the city of Cincinnati. We actively support our National Targets of Education, the Black Family, Health/Wellness, Economics and the Arts.
